Description

346 photos available, please ask for link (ad won't let me paste link) Insured shipping to the US/Canada available at cost via my Auckland agent Chassis Number: VRY60-502918. This is a preserved Japan-market RHD Nissan Safari from the first full production year of the Y60 platform. Not an export Patrol. Japan-market factory equipment includes PTO winch, rear differential lock (vacuum operated), sway-bar disconnect, 24 volt electrical system, sunroof, rear cabin heater/cold-weather package (Granroad trim) Truck is future-proofed and ready for another 38 years of use. Every inch of it has b

een looked over, needs nothing. Stock unopened silvertop TD42 with later model factory turbo + full 2.5″ exhaust installed 5000kms ago. Turbo is 100% bolt on using factory parts. Gearbox is the heavy duty R50a 5-spd. This particular unit does not show signs of synchro wear or 'jumping out' of gear downhill. Fresh engine/trans/body mounts (genuine) and clutch (Exedy) so it drives really creamy. Other recent servicing includes rebuilt Hitachi starter motor, new alternator, new clutch hydraulics, suspension/chassis bushes, wheel bearings/knuckles rebuilt, driveshaft universal joints etc etc. Paint has been refreshed in Nissan 002 Mint White to factory-specification single-stage enamel. Bumpers are finished in Nissan KH2 gun grey. Wheels are 16x7 Bradley VX from Japan. Current tyre size is 285/75R16, which works well with the stock 4.11 final drive. This Safari was imported to New Zealand in 1999 with approximately 119,000 km and now shows ~351,000 km. It has had two long-term New Zealand owners since arrival, including 19 years in one family. Clean title & and full NZ odometer history is available. The interior is clean overall. It has that classic 1980s Nissan interior smell. The headliner has some sun damage and shrinkage around the rear quarter section, with marks above the rear-view mirror. There is a crack on the dash from sun damage. The left-hand dash vent needs replacement, and a replacement is being sourced from Japan. I'll record a driving video and walk around soon. If you have any specific questions about shipping or particular aspects of the truck, feel free to message. Also if you're looking to buy a GQ Patrol/Y60 Safari (or even a 70 Series Landcruiser), I wrote a buyers guide, msg if you'd like a copy. The main things to look out for are rust and odometer tampering. For rebuild intervals, these trucks should be looked at in terms of commercial vehicles/semis. The early TD42 engines were built by Nissan Diesel Co to run 1 mil. kilometers between major rebuilds, and the gearbox was used in 5 ton dump-trucks. The Y60 was Nissan's response to the LandCruiser 60 Series. It They definitely don't build them like this any more:(
